Beth Ashby

As an artist who by necessity sees how small we all are in the grand scheme of the universe, I also struggle with delusions of grandeur and an impulse to fix everything with my own amazing ideas that I’m sure no one’s ever thought of before!  An awkward pairing of worldviews, I’ll admit. But I think part of what makes stories worth telling and art worth creating is the incompatibility of what seems possible and what is. I can’t help smashing together everything that shouldn’t work in tandem to see what happens. I suppose that’s my approach to this website; smashing together all these different facets of my artistic life that according to traditional pigeon-hole categories shouldn’t work in tandem. Let’s see what happens.
